Kapalai Island is a floating wooded resort build on a sandbar, which used to be a beautiful island 200 years ago until the erosion and the rise of sea water level that made it as what you see now. It is located in the district of Tawau, sitting at the edge of the Ligitan Reefs, 15km away from the famous Sipadan Island.

Getting there: The only way to get to the island is via Semporna Jetty only. Semporna is reachable by land transport from the nearest town and flight to Tawau (the closes) Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu.
