Mabul Island is another popular island located at Semporna water and known as a macro diving paradise. The island is just 15 minutes boat away from Sipadan Island and that makes it more popular among visitors since no overnight staying allowed at Sipadan Island. Accommodation in Mabul Island would cater guest from a different level of needs and budgets. You may get your permit to dive in Sipadan from here at the dive centres or the place you’re staying at that usually comes in a package.
Mabul Island is a beautiful island itself, inhabited by fishermen, the sea gipsies. Other than Sipadan Island, it is also surrounded by few other beautiful islands. Bear in mind that there’s a restriction for electricity supply during the day time, therefore plan your trip.

Getting there: Get yourself to Semporna, from the jetty, it would take 30min by speedboat or 1.5 hours by slow boat. Mostly your accommodation provider would arrange boat transfer for RM50/way plus RM10 entry fee.
